O's send Liz down to Norfolk.

Orioles link.

I have no problems with this. He has a little more to show and should shine in Norfolk. He will make them call him up soon. Actually I kinda hope Hayden and Radhames both force Baltimore for a call-up.

I have not included Olson because he has not been sent down. Yet. I just don't think it's his time yet. It will come.

Norfolk's rotation looks pretty darn good.

Randor isn't going anywhere. He is staying right here, however, he won't be the 5th starter. Atleast not right now. He want's too start, and what rookie doesn't want to start. But that's not what Baltimore has planned for him. He throws such a good change/split. Pretty much that pitch is the only thing keeping him here. They want batters to have as less exposure to that pitch as possible. Keeps them on their feet.

Also, in order for Balt to keep him they have to keep him on their 25 man all year. If not they have to offer him back to Detroit for I believe 25G's? Detroit would almost break their necks to get him back. They need arms. My bet is that they had no clue he developed that pitch.

By the way thanks for being one of my contributers around here. The traffic will be flowing soon. Still got the Oil can thing gonna coming soon. Just got a bit busy today.

From the comment on my blog...
I like the way Hernandez rolls. He has taken to mentoring Wieters like a champ. Its just nice to see the old guys all energized this year.

Good to see you writing again.

Historical wit-

Glad to be writing again. I was starting to go through withdraw.

I do like how Ramon goes about his business. Even last year. It's easy getting down on yourself when your not playing like yourself. He didn't hustle much last year but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He always seems to be in good spirits and willing to do what needs to be done.

Catching is such a hard job. Physcially AND mentally. Most fulltime catchers only catch about 100 - 120 games a year. It's hard stuff. Check this link out before you read the rest of my comment.

http://mlb.mlb.com/stats/individual_stats_player.jsp?playerID=150421&statType=1

In 99 he only caught 40 games and thats because he just broke into the bigs.

In 04 he played 111 games. He missed some time due to a collision at the plate, I believe. Even with missing some time he caught 111 games! Thats average for a catcher!

In 05 he played 99 games. He missed 18 due to a wrist injury. Add those 18 games to the 99 he played and thats 117 games. Still alot!

In 07 he played 106 games. He missed the first month of the year because of an injury.

What can you tell about the rest of his stats? In all other seasons he has caught no less than 136 games. He is a true work horse catcher. My suggestion would to be to cut him back a little.. Say put him on pace for 100 games and let Quiroz take the rest of them. That way we give Quiroz enough exposure and he just may break out! We also save Ramon some energy and hope he does well going into 2010, forcing us to take his option for that year, making him a backup to Wieters.

To sum it all up, let the man sit a little. It will only do him good and give a prospect a chance.

I shoulda been a big league manager. :) lol.
